These dessert samosas swap the traditional savory filling for a spiced fruit and nut mixture tucked inside crispy, golden pastry. The technique mirrors a classic samosa — folding and sealing the dough before frying or baking — but the result is a sweet treat ready in roughly 45 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 0.5 teaspoon of salt. Add 3 tablespoons of chilled ghee and rub between your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Slowly incorporate 0.75 cup of cold water, kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover with a damp cloth and rest for 15 minutes.
Make the Filling:
In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of chopped mixed dried fruits, 0.5 cup of roughly chopped mixed nuts, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of honey and mix until well distributed.
Shape the Samosas:
Divide the rested dough into 6 equal balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle using a rolling pin. Cut each circle in half to form two semi-circles.
Fold each semi-circle into a cone, sealing the edge with a bit of water. Fill each cone with the fruit and nut mixture, then seal the open edges.
Fry to Perfection:
In a frying pan, heat 2 cups of oil over medium heat until shimmering. Fry the samosas until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Notes
For a healthier version, bake the samosas at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
