Strawberry Pretzel Dessert is a layered American no-bake dish with a salty crushed pretzel crust, a sweetened cream cheese filling, and a strawberry gelatin topping set with fresh or frozen strawberries. The layers are built in sequence with chilling time between each one, so allow at least 4 hours before serving. It works well made the day before.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush pretzels into a fine crumble, either by placing them in a ziplock bag and using a rolling pin or by pulsing in a food processor.
In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar, stirring until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form an even crust. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown. Let it cool completely.
In a separate bowl, blend softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Fold in the whipped topping gently to maintain a light texture. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust, ensuring the edges are tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
In another bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Allow to cool slightly, about 10 minutes.
Arrange sliced strawberries over the cream cheese layer. Carefully pour the gelatin over the strawberries, spreading evenly.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set. Slice and serve chilled.

Tammy’s Tips:
For a twist, try using mixed berries or raspberries instead of strawberries.
For a crunchier crust, increase the pretzel amount slightly.
