Starbucks Inspired Cake Pops
These cake pops are made by crumbling baked cake, mixing it with frosting, rolling the mixture into balls, and dipping each one in a melted chocolate coating on a stick. Ingredients
For the Cake Base:
- 1 package vanilla cake mix or flavor of your choice

For the Chocolate Coating and Decorations:
- 2 cups chocolate chips use high-quality semi-sweet or white chocolate
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or coconut oil for a smoother coating
- 20 pieces cake pop sticks
- 1 cup sprinkles or decorative sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and bake. Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl until it resembles fine crumbs.
- Mix in the frosting gradually until a dough-like consistency is achieved. The mixture should be moist enough to hold shape but not sticky.
- Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Insert a cake pop stick into each ball.
- Freeze the cake pops for about 15 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the chocolate and oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, gently tapping off any excess, and cover with sprinkles.
- Allow the chocolate to set by placing the cake pops upright into a styrofoam block or cake pop stand.
Notes
- For a personalized touch, add a few drops of your favorite flavor extract to the frosting.
- Experiment with various chocolate coatings, such as dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
