Felix Brownies are a chocolate brownie baked with an added crunch and a hint of spice mixed into the batter. The base is a straightforward fudgy brownie recipe that comes together in one bowl, with a bake time of about 25–30 minutes. They're a fun variation for anyone who likes a little texture and heat alongside rich chocolate.
½cupchopped nutssuch as walnuts or pecans, optional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Whisk until fully incorporated.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using, until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with the spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the center is slightly set and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
Once cooled completely, cut into 12 squares and serve.

Notes
For a richer flavor, toast the nuts lightly before adding them to the batter.
If a more spiced profile is desired, consider increasing the cayenne pepper.
