Fantasy Fudge is a classic stovetop fudge made with sugar, butter, evaporated milk, and melted chocolate, then set in a pan until firm. The texture is dense and creamy, and the recipe comes together in about 15 minutes of active cooking before it needs a couple of hours to set. It cuts cleanly into squares and keeps well for gifting or holiday trays.
1cupchopped nutsOptional, walnuts or pecans recommended
Instructions
In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil.
Attach your candy thermometer to the side of the saucepan. Allow the mixture to boil, while stirring constantly for about 4-5 minutes, until it reaches a temperature of 234°F (112°C).
Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips until completely melted and smooth.
Quickly fold in the marshmallow creme until the mixture is well combined and creamy. Add nuts if using.
Pour the fudge mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
Let the fudge cool at room temperature until set, about 2 hours. For quicker setting, refrigerate for 1 hour.

Lori’s Tips
For a richer flavor, consider using dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
If making in a humid environment, slightly reduce the cooking time to achieve the right texture.
