A single-serving chocolate mug cake mixes up in minutes with basic ingredients and cooks in the microwave in about 90 seconds. The result is a warm, soft cake that is ready to eat straight from the mug. It is a practical option when you want a small dessert without heating the oven.

1tbspchocolate chipsoptional, for added gooeyness
Instructions
In your microwave-safe mug, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well with a fork to ensure no lumps remain.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until you achieve a smooth batter.
If using chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter at this stage.
Microwave the mug on high for 60 to 90 seconds, or until the cake has risen and is just set in the center. Avoid overcooking as the cake will continue to cook after it’s removed from the microwave.
Allow to cool slightly before enjoying straight from the mug with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Notes
For a nuttier flavor, consider adding a little almond extract or a sprinkle of chopped nuts on top.
