Easy Dirt Dessert Recipe
Dirt dessert is a no-bake layered treat made from crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, a sweetened cream cheese and pudding mixture, and whipped topping. Served in a flower pot or a large bowl and topped with gummy worms, it mimics a scoop of garden soil. It takes about 20 minutes to assemble and needs a couple of hours in the fridge to set.

Ingredients
- 14 oz cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies such as Oreos
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
- 3.5 oz instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups milk cold
- 12 oz whipped topping thawed
- 8 pieces gummy worms for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the 'Soil': Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a ziplock bag. Using a rolling pin, crush them into fine crumbs, resembling soil. Set aside.
- Make the Cream Mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Combine the Pudding: In another bowl, whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk until it begins to thicken, about 2 minutes. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
- Layer the Dessert: Using serving cups, start by layering the cookie crumbs, followed by the cream cheese mixture, and then the pudding mix. Repeat until the cup is almost full, ending with a layer of cookie crumbs on top to resemble dirt.
- Decorate: Place a few gummy worms on top for decoration to mimic worms crawling out of the dirt.
Notes
- For a more intense chocolate flavor, consider using dark chocolate sandwich cookies.
- If you prefer a less sweet dessert, you can reduce the powdered sugar slightly.
